Two out of five UK renters struggling with payments

New figures released by market research company, Opinium, have revealed that almost half of UK renters are concerned about the impact COVID-19 could have on their living circumstances.

According to the finding, 58% of tenants who were in employment prior to the pandemic have experienced impacts to their work situation, and of these, 43% have struggled to pay rent, bills or other essentials.

With COVID-19 contributing to financial pressure on UK renters, 17% have sought financial assistance since the outbreak. This figure rises to 31% among those whose job has been impacted.
